The lure of greener grass

It appears that a mass exodus of employees may be in the offing, at least for those almost post COVID-19 countries with rapid vaccine rollouts. Studies conducted by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and Microsoft have taken the pulse of a pandemic-weary workforce, which will likely see inflation in benchmark wages. Australia's curtailed skills migration may exacerbate the trend (should vaccines be rolled out....). Does your company encourage retention through its remuneration framework?

Public sector pay

Pay them well, get them through the door, then lock it.

Analysis conducted by an Australian media group suggests high pay levels among senior executive staff in the public sector. These include the heads of our police, the spy agency and other officials in the culture, finance, health and transport industries. This is true when compared to their counterparts in Britain, Canada or America. But not relative to the private sector. We provide some perspective.
