Long Term Variable Remuneration (LTVR)

An alternative term for Long-Term Incentive (LTI). A common term used in banking and insurance companies. The emphasis is “variability” with results, rather than an incentive to achieve specific results. For example, equity vesting contingent on rTSR is difficult to directly influence. Pay can vary with the outcome, but few would consider it an incentive to achieve an outcome.
