The Australian Productivity Commission will publish their interim report on executive remuneration in late September.  Guerdon Associates is pleased to advise that Mr. Gary Banks, the Commission’s chairman, has agreed to provide a briefing to non executive directors, institutional investors and executives on the Commission’s findings and likely recommendations on Monday, 19 October.

Mr. Banks will be present in Allens Arthur Robinson’s Sydney office, with a live video link to their Melbourne office to enable discussion with attendees and panellists preferring that location.

Guerdon Associates, in conjunction with proxy advisers CGI Glass Lewis, have also invited a top-level panel to respond to Mr. Banks’ presentation, with a significant amount of time reserved for questions and comments from the floor.  As with the Remuneration Forum earlier this year, we will also invite government regulators to attend.

Importantly, to enable free, frank and open discussion, news media will be excluded from the event, and Chatham House rules will apply.

As numbers will be limited, attendance will be by invitation. However, if you wish to attend, please do not hesitate to contact us.

This will be the only opportunity for institutional investors, companies and their boards of directors to freely express opinions and provide feedback to the Commission under Chatham House rules before it lodges its final report with the government in December.

So save the date – Monday 19 October 2009, registration 7.30 am for 8 am start, ending at 10.30 am with morning tea.
